Matheran, located in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, is India’s smallest and most eco-friendly hill station. Situated at an altitude of 800 meters, this charming destination is famous for its red-soil pathways, colonial architecture, toy train, and breathtaking viewpoints.

By Train

  • Nearest Railway Station: Neral (21 km from Matheran).
  • Take the famous toy train or local taxis up to Dasturi Point.

By Road

  • Accessible via Mumbai–Pune Highway (NH 48) to Neral, then a short drive to Dasturi Point.
  • Vehicles are not allowed beyond Dasturi — visitors walk or take a horse/rickshaw.

By Air

  • Nearest Airport: Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai (90 km).
  • Cabs available from airport to Neral.
