About this destinationMayureshwar Temple at Morgaon is considered the first among the eight revered Ashtavinayak temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha.
It is located on the banks of the Karha River in Pune district and is the starting and ending point of the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage.
The temple derives its name from the legend of Lord Ganesha defeating the demon Sindhu while riding a peacock (Mayura).
